Deities
There are nine Deities of the Inland Seas world, who rule over all. They are the most commonly worshiped deities, and their temples can be found in most cities.
Lawful Deities (Sun)
Teslan, Lord of the Morning (Lawful Good, Fire)
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/7/2/8172838/2733135.jpg?279)
Teslan is the god of righteousness, valuing mercy, generosity, and kindness while scorning selfishness and cruelty. His temples often have lofty ceilings and large windows, and they always face east towards the rising sun. They are often made of white stone or, failing that, painted white, and decorated with polished silver, so much so that they can be nearly blinding. All paladins follow Teslan, Lord of the Morning, as do most who aspire to do the greatest good.

Pidael is the god of justice, valuing honesty, justice, and duty while scorning deceit, trickery, and vengeance. His temples have straightforward, simple designs and layouts, and are largely left bare, save for small areas (such as corners and archways) which are richly detailed with carvings. Most who pray to Pidael seek justice and to take just actions, though some pray under the misguided notion of vengeance.

Osirel is the god of war, death, and blood, valuing sacrifice, valor, and vengeance while scorning mercy, pity, and aid. His temples are harsh and often spiked, with little decoration on the outside, save for a lone crow at the highest point, but inside they are richly decorated, with tapestries and carvings depicting bloodshed and battle and various paraphernalia related to death and combat. All pray to him on behalf of the deceased, but assassins, gladiators, warriors, and others who plan to spill blood or risk their own spilled also offer their prayers.

Lanura, Lady of Twilight (Chaotic Good, Water)

Lanura is the goddess of nature, valuing love, life, and good health above all. She scorns greed, sacrifice, and pain. Her temples are always made of fallen wood, never freshly cut trees, and built around open-air courtyards, complete with trees and fountains, producing a calming, zen-like aura. Most of her worshippers are elves and gnomes, seeking contact with their natural environment, but others praying for healing, good health, or fortune in their relationships also go to her.

Dasmot, the Trickster (Chaotic Neutral, Air)

Dasmot is the god of thieves, assassins, and spies, valuing trickery, cunning, and sneakiness while scorning valor and foolishness. He has no temples of his own; instead, shrines to Dasmot are hidden within other temples, often unbeknownst to the caretakers of that temple. Sometimes Dasmot's priests are cunning enough to construct secret, hidden rooms for prayer to Dasmot, within the other deity's temples. Pidael's temples are a particular favorite target for secret shrines. Dasmot's regular worshippers include rogues and thieves, but all who have a trickster side to them offer prayer to Dasmot.

Lelythia, Queen of Shadows (Chaotic Evil, Fire)
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/7/2/8172838/3630536.jpg)
Lelythia is the goddess of darkness and destruction, valuing hatred, wrath, and vengeance while scorning virtues such as justice, honor and mercy. Her temples are stark black, devoid of any decoration save for sharp lines and jagged edges, towering monuments to the might of the Queen of Shadows. The harshness of the outside is continued within, where the only color save black is the blood red carpet, and sparsely placed torches offer barely enough light to walk by. In places where her power is not so readily accepted, small, secret shrines are built, often in basements or dungeons, where worshippers seeking power and destruction can whisper her praises.

Herdrov is the god of courage and strength, valuing perseverance, dedication, honor, and teamwork while scorning deceit, selfishness, and cowardice. His temples are often stout, solidly built, and squarish, with geometric patters and designs decorating them, inside and out. Small windows, practically arrowslits, dot the walls, but inside they are compensated for with hundreds of marvelous gems, each set to permanently shed light. Dwarves are the most common worshippers of Herdrov, but among the other races, warriors, stone and metalworkers, and those seeking strength of heart and arm offer prayer to him.

Nizbit is the god of knowledge and experience, valuing wisdom, practice, and self-sufficiency while scorning ignorance, apathy, and prejudice. He has no temples, but instead, shrines are built for him at libraries, schools, city gates, and crossroads. All who seek knowledge or luck in their travels offer him prayer, but halflings, who have no true home, and gnomes, always seeking knowledge, are particularly faithful.

Sizrene is the goddess of schemes, plots, lies, and pain, valuing cunning, selfishness, and ambition while scorning generosity, kindness and mercy. Her temples are often built underground, whether as attachments to larger construction, add-ons to other temples, or stand-alone dungeons, and decorated with spider motifs and vicious weaponry. Sharing worshippers with Dasmot, all who seek to deceive and gain personal power offer her prayer.
