Ancient Deities
The Ancient Deities are angels that oversee their own niches of the world, protecting and aiding those who act in their interests. Originally worshipped as full deities, over time they have been forgotten and lost. In recent years, however, a few of these ancient gods have been rediscovered, and their powers remain as strong as ever.
Sirael, Angel of the Morning Sun (Neutral Good, Water)

Sirael is a lesser deity with ties to Teslan. Known as the Angel of the Morning Sun, she is best known for her blessings of health and good luck. She wishes for those that serve her to act kindly and from the heart, and her priests often take vows of peace in her service. Legends say that her avatar sometimes appears at dawn, in times of great need, to bring blessings upon her followers. Her symbol is a staff, with a single orb set atop it, above a golden sunburst.
Cernundwyn, Angel of the Forest (Neutral Good, Air)

Cernundwyn is a deity once revered by both elves and dwarves. Often known as a stalwart protector of the forest, his fierce devotion to nature inspires respect in both races. His worshippers are often vigilantes, devoted to their cause of protecting nature, often by harnessing nature's own powers. His symbol is an oak tree growing out of an anvil.
Hagrash, God of War (Chaotic Evil, Fire)

Hagrash is an orc deity of war, blood, death, and fire—everything they love. Legends say he was summoned during the Demon Wars, and led a great many orcish armies to victory. At the end of the wars, though, he was supposedly bound beneath Mount Kharad, and temples erected around the site to prevent him from ever escaping. However, the legends have been forgotten by most dwarves, and now the orcs have regrouped to try to free their ancient deity.
Osgath, Angel of Valor (Lawful Good, Earth)

Osgath is a champion of the battlefield, standing for honor and valor even in the face of overwhelming odds. His followers were elite legions, clad in golden armor. Legends speak of their great prowess and undying bravery, turning the tide of many battles, sometimes even with Osgath at their side. He lends his followers great moral strength and courage. His symbol is a silver sword laid over a golden shield on a red field.
Astane, Angel of Magic (Chaotic Neutral, Water)

Astane is a deity once revered and feared by arcane casters. Once believed to be the source of all arcane power, later texts reveal her instead to simply be its keeper or guardian. Arcanists once prayed to her to keep them safe as they experimented, and though the effectiveness of their prayers was dubious, even today many arcane texts have Astane's symbol scribed on the inside cover, offering prayer (although the current purpose has been forgotten). Known to be fickle, wild, and unpredictable, Astane revels in powerful arcane magics and loves to see the forces she keeps unleashed. Her symbol is a specific set of arcane runes, inscribed in circles. Looking at them for too long produces headaches and nausea.
Ilyena, Angel of Protection (Lawful Good, Air)
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/7/2/8172838/4858296.jpg)
Ilyena is the patron deity of those who, above all else, put others before themselves and act for the good of the people, rather than the individual. She herself puts her followers first and foremost, offering advice and guidance. On rare occasions, stories tell of direct intervention for her greatest worshipers.
Her followers were great paladins, knights, and clerics, often taking up arms to protect those that needed it most. Known as Sapphire Knights, they wore white, steel armor, inscribed with kite brilliant cut sapphires, and worked throughout the realm to bring peace and prosperity to all equally. The Sapphire Knight's symbol was that of Ilyena, a white shield inscribed with the same sapphires the Knights bore on their armor and weapons.

Tyrion, Angel of Vigilance (Lawful Neutral, Earth)

Like his sister Ilyena, Tyrion is a deity of protection, though instead of stepping forward to protect, he holds his ground, vigilantly guarding that which is his charge. His followers, too, act as guards, keeping watch to prevent disturbance or harm to places or people. Tyrion himself guards the world and its barrier, working to prevent those who would create rifts or portals out to other dimensions, and fighting back those from beyond who would tear it open. His symbol is a downward-pointing sword over a golden sun. When he lived on the Material Plane, Tyrion was a master of martial and psionic prowess, and the lead instructor of the Psychic Academy, later converted to he Repository of Psionics.
Ellara, Angel of Light (Lawful Good, Fire)

Ellara is a motherly angel of light. She stands to aid and protect her followers, as they seek to bring life and well-being to the world, while unleashing righteous wrath against those who would harm them or bring death and destruction. Her fiery beams of divine fury are often targeted towards the undead, though she also uses them to maintain strict discipline among her followers, chastising them for straying from her chosen path. Her symbol is a pair of fiery golden wings.
